TEDDY AND THE LION CELEBRATING 100 YEARS

In 1909 former United States President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt went to Africa on a safari to collect specimens for the Smithsonian Institute.

Sam Loyd saw this an opportunity to not only pay tribute to the great leader but create a puzzle based on his African adventure. Following on from the success of his Get Off the Earth Puzzle and The Lost Man, Sam Loyd was create not only his last vanishing puzzle but what many consider his greatest technical achievement, the Puzzle of Teddy and the Lion. In the center of the puzzle appears Teddy Roosevelt surrounded by 7 Lions and 7 Men. When the puzzle is turned to the left and one counts again there are now only 6 Men and 8 Lions. Where does the man vanish to and where does the lion come from?

2009 marks 100 year since Sam Loyd invited this incredible puzzle and The Sam Loyd Company would like to celebrate this event by giving 5 FREE Trick Donkey postcards with the purchase of  Teddy and the Lion Classic Edition. The classic edition will be limited to 1000 puzzles world-wide so take a trip to Africa with Teddy and find out where the man goes and where the lion comes from!
